Chiayi Shallow Mountain Wild Art Action, 2024
A community-created sound collection project weaving together the natural voices of Zhanghu Creek, tea plantations, and betel palm forests with the laughter and memories of local elders and residents. Through collaborative recording, we crafted a sonic landscape uniquely belonging to Yongxing village. Participants found stillness among tea terraces, learning to listen deeply as a way of reconnecting with land. In this practice, listening became both retrospection and dialogue—a bridge between the mountain's ancient rhythms and the community's living stories, where every recorded moment held both natural song and human memory in the same breath.
